A Gallery Unlike Any Other
Nestled at the foot of the Virunga volcanoes in Musanze, the Volcano Arts Center is far more than a gallery. It is a living, breathing hub of Rwandan creativity — where artisans weave, painters create, and visitors become part of the story.
What You'll Find Inside
From the moment you step through the hand-painted gates, you are greeted by an explosion of colour. Canvases line the walls depicting Rwanda's wildlife, people, and landscapes. Agaseke weavings sit alongside carved sculptures. The gorilla chess set — carved from a single piece of wood — stops every visitor in their tracks.
Meet the Artists
What makes VAC special is that the artists are always present. On any given day you can watch a painter working on a new canvas in the open-air studio, or a weaver completing the final coils of an agaseke basket. Every purchase comes with a story — and often a handshake from the maker themselves.
Visit Us
VAC is open daily and welcomes walk-in visitors. Guided tours, painting workshops, and private events can be arranged. We are located on the main road through Musanze, just minutes from the Volcanoes National Park gates.
